Editorial Standards, Sources, Corrections and AI Assistance
Last updated: 28 August 2026
VisaTasker publishes general information about Australian migration law, policy and procedure. This page explains how we prepare, source, update and correct that material. It also explains how we use technology, including artificial intelligence.
Editorial responsibility
VisaTasker Pty Ltd is responsible for material published on this website. Articles identify their author. A professional reviewer is named only when VisaTasker has a record that the particular article was reviewed by that person. Publication by VisaTasker does not mean that every historical article has undergone a fresh professional review.
Authors and professional credentials
Awais Nisar is VisaTasker’s Principal Migration Agent. He is an Australian Registered Migration Agent (MARN 2318017), a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor (QEAC v077), and a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA 27394). Author and reviewer credentials are stated so readers can understand who is accountable for the material.
Sources
We prefer primary and authoritative sources. Depending on the topic, these may include legislation and legislative instruments, the Department of Home Affairs, the Federal Register of Legislation, ministerial or departmental announcements, Australian tribunals and courts, state or territory migration authorities, and official professional or education bodies.
Where practical, articles link directly to the most relevant official sources and state when those sources were checked. A link does not transfer editorial responsibility to the source, and readers should confirm that they are viewing the current version.
How articles are prepared
- Define the question and the date on which the information is being checked.
- Locate applicable primary law, official policy or authoritative guidance.
- Distinguish legal requirements from policy, practice, commentary and case-specific strategy.
- Identify material qualifications, exceptions and uncertainty.
- Use plain language without promising an outcome.
- Record the author, sources and any genuine professional review.
Publication and update dates
The publication date is the date on which an article first became publicly available. VisaTasker displays a substantive-update date only when the article’s material content has been meaningfully revised. Formatting, spelling, template, metadata or technical changes are not represented as a substantive editorial update.
Corrections
We correct material factual, legal, sourcing and attribution errors as promptly as reasonably possible. A correction may update the article, add an explanatory note, or withdraw material that should no longer be relied upon. Substantive corrections receive a genuine update date. We do not silently change a publication date to make older material appear new.
To request a correction, email [email protected] with the page URL, the passage concerned, the reason it may be inaccurate, and any supporting official source. We review correction requests on their merits.
Artificial-intelligence assistance
VisaTasker may use AI-assisted tools for tasks such as outlining, transcription, summarisation, language refinement, quality checks and identifying issues for further research. AI output is not treated as an authoritative source. It must not invent facts, citations, credentials, clients, results or professional review.
A human remains responsible for deciding what is published. Where migration information is prepared with AI assistance, the applicable primary sources and material claims must still be checked. AI use does not convert general information into personal migration advice.
Independence, commercial content and outcomes
Editorial material may link to VisaTasker’s consultation and service pages. Commercial relevance does not justify changing legal conclusions, omitting material risks or promising an outcome. Visa outcomes depend on the law, evidence, decision-maker and individual circumstances. Testimonials and historical outcomes do not guarantee future results.
General-information limitation
Website content is general information, not legal or migration advice for a particular person. Australian migration law and policy can change. Obtain advice based on your complete circumstances before acting.
